Summoner is a magical ranged DPS class, that utilizes the power and elemental attunement of various primal anddemi-primal summons to wreak havoc on their enemies. This job can be played upon reaching Level 30 as an Arcanist,and equipping their job stone.

Summoner is magical ranged DPS class, utilizing large primal and demi-primalsummons. Summoner maintains a high degree of mobility for free, thusmaking Summoner an easy job to play for progression or other learning purposes.

Summoner maintains an extended rotation loop that balances the use of its Demi-Bahamutand Demi-Phoenix summons, alongside three elemental primals: Ifrit-Egi,Titan-Egi, and Garuda-Egi.These summons deal substantial damage to their respective targets, while alsoinfusing the Summoner with its elemental attunement, providing unique abilities that canbe used whenever these summons are spawned. Summoner's rotation loop is streamlined however,with its focus on simple binary decisions for which abilities to use at any given time.

Summoner also maintains a great party utility, providing various beneficial effects.Not only can Summoner provide a damage boosting buff to all party members with Searing Light, but also bring Resurrection toraise downed party members, as well as some healing-over-time spells with Rekindle and Everlasting Flight. Summoner even hasa personal mitigation skill with Radiant Aegis, allowing the Summonerto shield themselves to prevent taking incoming damage.

To unlock Summoner, you will need to first reach level 30 with the Arcanist class.In order to unlock Arcanist, you can find the first quest, "Way of the Arcanist," byspeaking with Murie at the Arcanist's Guild in Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (x4.5, y11.2).

Once you have reached level 30 and finished all of the associating Arcanist quests, you maythen speak to Thubyrgeim at Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (x4.7 y11.4) to pick up the quest"Austerities of Flame." Completion of this quest will award you with the Soul of the Summonerjob stone, unlocking the Summoner Job.

Summoner's gauge will become available in two separate stages, as the gauge itselfis split into two distinct parts: The Aetherflow Gauge and the Trance Gauge.

The Trance Gauge will become available once you reach level 6 and unlock Aethercharge.This gauge will then upgrade later on as you unlock Dreadwyrm Trance, with its finalupgrade occurring when you unlock Summon Bahamut and Summon Phoenix.This gauge will show the duration of your trance or demi-primal duration as it is activated.

Extending from the Trance Gauge will be the elemental arcanum that will be provided each time you activate Aethercharge, Dreadwyrm Trance, Summon Bahamut, or Summon Phoenix. This arcanum will be displayed as colored crystals below the duration bar,showing which arcanum you have available to be used. Once a primal summon is used, it will then show thenumber of elemental attunement stacks available from that primal, as well as the duration you have to utilizethese abilities before they disappear.

The Aetherflow Gauge will become available once you reach level 10 and unlock Energy Drain.Each time Energy Drain is used, you will generate two stacks of Aetherflow Gauge, that canlater be used to cast Fester and Painflare.
