I came across this post from Dominique Levin last week and answering her question - who do I want to be this year, made me pause and think.. and think more.. I think my answer is - I want to accumulate experiences this year.. all the stuff I was too scared to do, too busy to do, too arrogant to do, too lazy to do, too money motivated to do...

Are the rules changing or is this just a business cycle? After 15 years of tech boom, this downturn in tech is not something a lot of folks are used to (or have ever seen).. the angst that folks are feeling seems to pervade LinkedIn posts.. starting to see a lot more posts about the downsides of VC funding. https://lnkd.in/eDTMJbeFhttps://lnkd.in/ewHZ3y74

GenAI COE Leader / GenAI Agent Builder.. this is a new role I see being created in organizations. Someone that can use low code / no code tools to build GenAI agents for their organization to meet all the various GenAI needs. I documented an approach to follow while building agents. It is a new way of doing things and I would have benefited if someone had shared this with me.Just like we went from SQL Programmers to Tableau Authors and this led to Tableau COEs and best practices around data visualization, we will see this play out with GenAI..

I was very excited to talk to Srikanth Iyengar at upGrad about GenAI in Sales on the GenAIrous podcast. For those interested in listening to a wide ranging discussion on the potential and limitations of Gen AI in Sales.https://lnkd.in/e75WMWxUFor those who are lazy, I asked ChatGPT to give me 5 highlights (with emojis)."Gen AI has the potential to transform sales by providing deep insights and automating routine tasks, allowing sales teams to focus on what they do best—building relationships with customers."🚀💡"The biggest hurdle isn't the technology itself, but integrating it seamlessly into existing sales processes and ensuring data quality and consistency."🧩🔍"Personalization is no longer a luxury; it's a necessity. Gen AI enables us to deliver personalized customer experiences at scale, which is a game-changer for sales."🎯🤝"Starting with pilot projects can help demonstrate the tangible benefits of Gen AI, easing the transition and building confidence within the organization."🏗️📊"As Gen AI continues to evolve, the gap between its promise and practical application will narrow, making it an indispensable tool in the sales arsenal."🔮🛠️Coincidentally Morgan Stanley was in the news about their GenAI assistant for their wealth advisors - https://lnkd.in/e7AP5_89 Their experience ties well with the summary ChatGPT came up with - Automating routine tasks, integrating it seamlessly into workflows, personalization is a necessity, gap between the promise and a practical application is closing.

Humans get better linearly with plateaus in their learning while AI gets better exponentially without plateaus.. I recently watched the AlphaGo documentary and was struck by a few things -AlphaGo went from being a 2 Dan to a 9 Dan (in Go) in 6 months. It would take a human 10-20 years (and most will never make it). Most won’t make it to a 2 Dan.So how long will it take GenAI to go from needing humans heavily (current state) to not needing humans? There are a lot of variables.. but I don’t see how this does not become a reality in at least some areas.. https://lnkd.in/e5ju3HMn

In GenAI is hype, GenAI is not hype news.. Toys R Us made an Ad using Sora. I am sure there are folks who will have an opinion on the quality, but I see it as a sign of what is to come. This is very early days..I can relate to this statement - Miller said there was also a lot of gut checking and human involvement throughout the process. “Sometimes it would check a box, but maybe a reaction wouldn’tbe on time with what was going on,” she said. “It was a lot of learning and a lot of back and forth. It was an educational process.”"the best way to understand technology is to actually experience it, rather than just going off what you’re hearing from other people."I'll reiterate what my conviction is - GenAI is for innovators and early adopters. Those willing to experiment. The challenge is most enterprises want to scale it to all their employees and most are laggards..https://lnkd.in/eG-8b5d5Here is a link to the video - https://lnkd.in/efzf6CufStewart Frey, MBA Daniel Cummings Mike Knaggs

GenAI is hype, GenAI is not hype, GenAI is hype, GenAI is not hype..In today's it is not hype news - Wimbledon will be using GenAI. Yes stodgy Wimbledon where they still wear whites!!!The model has been trained on the Wimbledon editorial style and will be monitored by the All England Club. The new feature is designed to help Wimbledon scale its content to both new and existing tennis fans globally, as well as provide fans access to timelier, curated coverage across ladies’ and gentlemen’s singles matches which are often happening simultaneously.https://lnkd.in/gK7Gcwdb

More buzz about SaaS being dead (since Salesforce's earnings call).. or is this because there was too much VC money that has kept companies propped up that are not viable any more. Usually when companies are not viable, there is consolidation.. but that is not happening (at least at the pace it needs to happen)..GenAI eats Saas - https://lnkd.in/epUCMQkxLegacy Cloud is dead - https://lnkd.in/eab9HGbR
