I've done several playthroughs where I spammed dynamite until all of the corruption was gone before hardmode :D

Good news, you don’t need the Dryad for it, just shimmer vile powder or vicious powder and you’ll get your hands on it.
In fact, this is the only way you can purify blocks on remix/zenith seeds without another world. The clentaminator isn’t sold, and neither is the solution for it (not even the dark blue solution from the truffle) and the same goes for powders.
You will have to craft it all if you do one of those worlds, though because she doesn’t sell any powder under any circ*mstances.

Youre looking in the wrong place in the desert here.
This is unnoted on the wiki, but the underground desert is actually split in half, having an upper and bottom half. The loot that is contained in the sandstone chests actually changes depending on what half it was generated in. Only sandstone chests in the upper half can contain the acient chisel and youre too low for that in this clip since youre already at lava level.
This may sound like a basic lie since not even the official wiki contains this information, but I tested it on 2 different large worlds, opening over 35 sandstone chests on the upper half and over 25 on the bottom half and I only found acient chisels in the chests from the top half.

You could just mine it in pre-hardmode if you got tissue samples for the crimson pickaxe from brain's minions (without killing the brain itself, so the dryad won't arrive). That way you wouldn't need to deal with the second crimson spawned in hardmode.

10:00 Fun fact: Skeletron is actually a requirement for Moon Lord. ML has two spawn methods:
1. Lunar Events. This requires defeating Lunatic Cultist, who can't be summoned until after you've beaten Skeletron (as the old man has spawn priority over the cultists).
2. Celestial Sigil. While it can be used after defeating Golem, the spawn materials and crafting station are also post-Cultist.
So if you went for the Terraformer, you'd have to kill Skeletron, whereas he's only optional with the Clentaminator.

ALSO, for anyone who wants to farm surface mimics, use Gold Flasks. They're crafter with gold dust (sold by the merchant) & water bottles at the Imbuing Station (sold by the Witch Doctor). You can either use a melee weapon or a whip to apply it to enemies, giving them the Midas debuff, that makes it so after you kill an enemy they drop 10-49% more coins after they die.

I just like how he spent a few hours possibly trying to raise mining speed and even left his pc AFK for a while so he wouldn't have to spend 40 minutes mining around the biome again.

I learned about mimics spawning during one of my eternity mode playthroughs, where I dug out a huge area and mimics started spawning (I of course just assumed it was a part of eternity, because the mod is like that)

Bringing up the surface mimics made me think of my "complete" master summoner run (I burned out at daytime Empress and Moon Lord, they're just, not fun)
I had a bunch of tunnels dug out into the hill near spawn to allow for more area for enemy spawns, especially for the lacewing, I had a few mimics show up as a result

this brings back memories of when I decided to purify the world and missed 6 hallow stone that were cut off from spreading by hardmode ores and ended up wasting me hours of my life trying to find them

Don't know if it's been said yet but you can get Purification Powder without the Dryad. Shimmer Vicious Powder or Vile Powder.
That said, it still would have been slower. Crystal Shard duplication glitch would have saved you from the mimic grind also but doing this without glitches is still cool.

Suggestion: Purify a 100% corrupted/crimson world

This achievement was hell for me to get. I didn’t know that it takes a day for the dryad to update so I was stuck thinking there was some block that I missed somewhere. I resorted to giving an incredibly broad perimeter for the area where the patch of missed blocks could be, and I minded out the entire thing. Fortunately, I was playing on a post Moonlord character, so I had the DCU, though I didn’t know the Terraformer existed so I was just using the Clentaminator. I’m pretty sure I also had the Rod of Harmony with that character too.
About halfway through the digging process, I decided to go check with the Dryad to see if the world was pure, and it was. I still to this day (I say this as if it wasn’t like a month ago) have no idea if the world was pure and the Dryad didn’t update or if there was something I mined out.

There's a Biome Sight potion that you can make that shows all infected blocks. Found out it existed recently, and it'd help out for anything else you do with the biomes

"piece of cake with a few sticks of dynamite" sounds deadly

you can mine crim ore and get that mats before you kill the boss for the pick leading you to hard mode without spawning the dryad

I've been doing this for years and the best thing you can do is to use sticky bombs instead of a pickaxe to do the job of mining around the biomes in prehard mode

I got a feeling that theyre gonna add a unique dialogue now because theyve seen someone do it. Kinda like defeating skeletron guard and letting him drom the bone key I think

I swear if they make it so gungnir's attack applies a faint purification powder effect after this it's gonna be neat

They should add a dialog specifically for when someone purifies the world before she arrives. I bet there are other people who attempted this and done this, but never recorded and were equally disappointed when no unique dialogue happened. IDK, I just think it would be really cool.

I'm pretty sure one of the 1.4.5 achievments it to celloect every bestiary entry. Mabye you could try get it before the achievment gets released as another challenge?

Just curious, if you just didnt have an extra house available for the dryad to move in would that not also have been a way to do the challenge? or does the dryad appear just after defeating one of the bosses, regardless of housing available

Getting ranger armor and ammo reservation potions would have saved you some money, since the colored solutions are affected by ammo consumption buffs.

Hokuto no Ken, but it is Toki version: "You are already purified..." "NANI!"

Instead of having to grind tons of platinum for solution, you can wear a ranger set, ammo box, and ammo reservation potion because the solution in the terraformer and the cleantaminator.

You should do a challenge where you try to get the universal pylon as fast as you can!

what i would do is get VERY specific npcs (the steampunker)and put them in houses and destroy the other houses, then defeat those bosses without letting them die

me too because i grabbed my terraformer from another world to get that achievement in a newly made small world

I feel like this took a bit less time than my own playthrough where I used a world that was large and I beat moonlord on to make pure. It took me over 100 hours to completely make it pure

In all my years of playing terrarium. I didn't know what sunflowers could do. Until now.

I had no bloody clue only certain bosses would have the Dryad spawn. I thought it was any boss period.

I'm surprised that this didn't happen:
- You place tunnels every 120 blocks because the Clentaminator has 60 range and you can fire both ways from a tunnel
- Going down one tunnel, you purify the 60 blocks on one side of a 120 block section
- You move to the next tunnel
- In the interim, the 60 blocks that you are just about to get to, re-corrupt some of the blocks on the edges of the area you just cleared (say 61, 62, 63)
- You go down the next tunnel and purify the other 60 blocks, but because they're out of range you miss e.g. a block at 61 that was just re-contaminated
- You move on thinking it's pure when it isn't
Yes, this is unlikely for it to happen so quickly, but given the scale of what you were doing I was surprised it didn't happen once.

i wonder if you got rlly lucky and got some on that last sweep of the surface, cuz if you dug a tunnel EXACTLY at the clentaminators range limit with no overlap between tunnels, wouldnt that mean by the time you got to the bottom of one tunnel, the top of a different tunnels crimson wouldve spred just a tiny bit? only way to prevent that is to have overlap

The fact that he didn't use any biome sight potion makes it even harder

For anyone trying to do this in a more "normal" fashion, I suggest the Biome Sight Potions. They highlight any Corrupt/Crimson/Hallow block on screen. These require Grass Seeds which the Dryad sells.

When I did it. Just did it in journey mode for infinite bombs in prehardmode. The main part was quick. The real time came when I forgot I placed ebonstone in the air a little, as throwing points, and forgot to break them after, thinking they were wood.

I always fence off the evil biomes (and the anticipated V while in pre-hardmode) with explosives. Mining is quite possibly the worst way to do it :P

12:30 since I primarily play on large worlds, this happens to me a lot. Especially because of the hardmode V

I didn't finish the video yet, but if you put vicious or vile powder in the shimmer, you could have gotten purification powder without the dryad in prehardmode
