With the introduction of the new talents system and the ability to freelychange points and share/import builds free of consumables costs while out ofcombat, it is highly advised to adapt the build based on the type ofsituation at hand.

3.

Talent Explanations for Destruction Warlocks

3.1.

Tier 1 (Rows 1-4) Class Talents For Destruction Warlock

Fel Armor	Passive damage mitigation
Burning Rush	Greatly increases Warlock mobility
Fel Domination	Offers instant pet swapping or resummon in case of an untimelydeath.
Mortal Coil	A percentage-based heal on a very short cooldown, which makes potionstrivial in comparison.
Curses of Enfeeblement	Gives access to strong utility Curses while opening the pathfor Demonic Embrace.
Demonic Inspiration	DPS increase
Wrathful Minion	DPS increase

3.1.2.

Optional / flexible talents

Talent	Reason for taking
Fiendish Stride	Substantially reduces Burning Rush health cost while alsoincreasing the max speed.
Amplify Curse	Enable to empower Curses.
Banish	Useful to control Demons or Aberrations if the situation arises.
Demonic Fortitude	Max HP increase which works well with percentage-based mitigationssuch as Soul Leech and Dark Pact.

Sweet Souls	Further increase the healing from Healthstones.
Demonic Gateway	The unique party/raid-wide movement tool exclusive to Warlocks can be usedto quickly relocate, move between locations at different heights, and skipotherwise mandatory pathways.
Dark Pact	Powerful defensive cooldown that increases the Warlock's effective healthpool.
Strength of Will	Increases the value of Unending Resolve to a more relevant 35%.
Socrethar's Guile	DPS increase.
Sargerei Technique	DPS increase.

Frequent Donor	Further reduces the cooldown of Dark Pact to match Mortal Coil.
Shadowfury	AoE stun for when the situation requires it
Dark Fury	Increases the frequency of use of Shadowfury.
Dark Accord instead of Strength of Will	In cases where the silence/interrupt immunity is valuable.
Lifeblood	When additional sustain is needed.

Tier 3 (Rows 8-10) Class Talents For Destruction Warlock

Soul Link	Extremely strong passive damage mitigation tool.
Soulburn	A very strong utility that can massively boost either yoursurvivability or your mobility, depending on what spell isused.

Destruction Warlock Talents

The following section will go through Destruction Warlock Talentswith a focus on PvE scenarios.

4.1.

Tier 1 (Rows 1-4) Destruction Warlock Talents

The first section is where you choose the general direction of the build,if AoE is needed or not, and to what extent.

4.1.1.

Talents for all situations

Chaos Bolt	Main single-target and cleave Soul Shard spender, also mandatory toprogress down the path.
Conflagrate	One of the few movement tools in Destruction kit, while also beinginstrumental to the following talent.
Reverse Entropy	Passive DPS increase.
Backdraft	Passive that can offset the otherwise extremely long and disruptivecasts of Chaos Bolt and Soul Fire.
Havoc	Signature spell for Destruction that works in any multitargetsituation, from duplicating spenders to accelerating shardgeneration.
Explosive Potential	Cooldown reduction on Conflagrate equals to more chances forhasted casts through Backdraft.

4.1.2.

Optional / flexible talents

Talent	Reason for taking
Internal Combustion	higher dps choice in single target than its alternative.
Roaring Blaze	Provides a damage increase in single and cleave(through Havoc).
Pandemonium	Increases the effectiveness of Havoc windows by extendingthe duration.
Rain of Fire	This is your dedicated ground-targeted AoE spender.
Cataclysm	Good AoE burst and Immolate application on any targetaffected, which synergizes well with Channel Demonfire.
Inferno	Highest sustained AoE output node by a long margin, better used inhigh Mythic+ keys or raid encounters with multiple targets alivefor a long period of time.

4.2.

Tier 2 (Rows 5-7) Destruction Warlock Talents

4.2.1.

Talents for all situations

Talent	Reason for taking
Backlash	A mediocre damage increase, more useful in PvP where Warlock actuallygets hit by melee. Generally used to reach nodes below.
Flashpoint	Free Haste that can trigger in any scenario as long as there is at leasta target above 80% health makes this talent a safe pick.
Scalding Flames	Noticeable damage increase for the only Destruction DoT.
Ashen Remains	Passive damage increase.

4.2.2.

Optional / flexible talents

Talent	Reason for taking
Shadowburn	Execute talent which shines when sniping dying targets, thanks tocharge and shard refund mechanic and the synergywith Havoc and Mayhem.
Rolling Havoc	A damage amplification tied to Havoc windows.
Conflagration of Chaos	Increases the usability of Shadowburn. Mostly taken toreach Ruin if not going for the Soulfire path.
Eradication	Important debuff on target applied by Chaos Bolt, whichincreases any damage received from you.

4.3.

Tier 3 (Rows 8-10) Destruction Warlock Talents

4.3.1.

Summon Infernal	Destruction's strongest cooldown, providing damage and shard generationpassively, and required to sustain the spender's high Shard cost duringbursts.
Crashing Chaos	Further increases Destruction's burst potential during cooldownsby amplifying Chaos Bolts and Rain of Fire damage.
Chaosbringer	Passive damage increase on Destruction spenders.
Chaos Incarnate	Increases the Mastery value on spender.

4.3.2.

Optional / flexible talents

Grand Warlock's Design or Rain of Chaos	Both augment Infernal, with the former increasing the activations while thelatter adds burst damage.
Diabolic Embers	Provides a reliable shard generation increasefrom Incinerate casts.
Power Overwhelming	Passive damage increase. Generally, a 1-point investment for AoE.
Ritual of Ruin	Free spenders help Destruction's Soul Shard costs.
Master Ritualist	Increases the frequency of Ritual of Ruin procs forAoE-intensive situations.
Burn to Ashes	Provides a boost to Incinerate.
Avatar of Destruction	Another source of passive Soul Shard income.

Other than a handful of DPS increase nodes, the path progression isgenerally flexible and allows to opt in or out of specific utilities that maynot be relevant in a specific situation. The following sections willhighlight the key talents while also making suggestions for what to pick toprogress down the tree.

Under our Talents section, there is the option to enter "War Mode."Enabling War Mode provides the following benefits:

• PvP talents enabled in the outdoor world;
• 10% increase in World Quest rewards at maximum level;
• 10% more experience gained while leveling;
• Earn Conquest Points which can reward gear every week.

With the benefits of enabling War Mode for leveling and PvE content, it isrecommended you enable the feature. In most situations, this will allow for themaximum returns despite the risks. You will make yourself available for open-world PvP and the possibility to be "ganked" while leveling or doing WorldQuests exists.

In this section, we will rank the PvP talents best for leveling and doingsolo / small group PvE content. Below is a ranking of both General PvP Talentsand Destruction Warlock-specific PvE talents.

1. Essence Drain stacks a damage reduction effect on enemies thatare damaged by your Drain Life. You can reduce their damage by upto 25%, which is a large increase in your ability to survive and sustain.
2. Bonds of Fel allows to burst targets by dragging them away from the marked location.
3. Bane of Fragility reduces the target's maximum health by up to 10% by 15seconds, which is very desirable when setting up bursts.
4. Casting Circle is a 1-minute cooldown ability that creates an areawhere you are immune to silence and interrupt for 8 seconds. Removessilence/interrupt immunity from Unending Resolve.
5. Gateway Mastery increases your gateway's range by 20 yards and reduces theduration of the debuff placed on players using it by 15 seconds, making it a good choice whenincreased mobility is needed.
6. Nether Ward summons a shield lasting 3 seconds and reflecting backall harmful spells targeted at you.
7. Call Observer is only relevant when dealing with a lot of casting mobs.
8. Precognition and Shadow Rift are mostly irrelevant in the context of leveling.

1. Cremation causes Conflagrate to deal up to anadditional 3% of the target's maximum health in Fire damage if the target isafflicted by Immolate. This is a really nice boost to your damageand can be taken advantage of using Havoc.
2. Fel Fissure causes Chaos Bolt to create a 5 yardFelfire pool under the target, reducing movement speed by 50% and reducing healingreceived on all enemies by 25%. This talent seems great in all situations, butparticularly when you are dealing with multiple enemies at once.
3. Bane of Havoc causes Havoc to become a ground-targeted spell.Everything inside will be treated as it was debuffed by Havoc.
